One year ago I started my journey with Weight Watchers(R) again. After a year I am pleased with the results and completely impressed with myself that I've been able to keep the weight off for this year. It gives me hope that I can continue and reach my final goal. So where am I a year later?

Starting April 2010 / Now - April 2011 / Change
Weight: 242 / 205.8 / -36.2
Waist: 43 in / 38 in / -5 in
Hips: 51 in / 46.5 in / -4.5 in
Bust: 49 in / 44 in / -5 in
Dress Size: 22 / 16 / -3 sizes

What a change!! I'm so excited to see this after one year. The starting weight is where I was when I started with WW again--my highest weight before I gave birth to Matt was 254--so I'm really down 48.2 pounds from my highest! Almost 50 pounds!!!

It has been difficult--I haven't lost as much as I could have. Essentially I've lost 0.6 pounds per week. But, it's slow so hopefully it should stay off. I have taken time off for various reasons but have always been able to get back on, so to speak.

Other positive changes:
1) I've gotten active! I was so much a couch potato before this journey. Now I don't mind going to take a walk. I have a little more work to do to get a little more active. There are periods of time when I revert back to the couch potato. Hopefully the summer will give me more opportunities to get active since we won't have to worry about homework and early bed times. However, walking/racing may take a back seat due to the heat.

2) New Clothes!! :) My hubby (I love you!) may not think this is completely positive as I've spent a little bit of money, but the styles I am able to wear with my weight loss are wonderful. I used to HATE clothes shopping because I never liked the styles that were available for my size; but it's getting better. I was in Stage this past week and tried on a dress from the misses section--it was a 16. It didn't fit perfectly--way too tight in the hips and bust, but I could get it on which is such a change from before. Just a few more pounds/inches with the right choices in food and more activity and I'll be shopping in the misses section permanently!! (For those wondering, the sizes above are the women's sizes--almost out of that arena!)

3) More energy and confidence. For the most part I have much more energy than I used to. I have been able to do things like climb a rock wall, complete a ropes course, climb to the top of Tiger Stadium AFTER walking the campus, and complete a HALF-MARATHON! All of these activities would have been extremely difficult for me a year ago.

I still have a long way to go. Next Saturday, I'm going to complete my second half marathon. My goal is to finish in less than 2:54:09, but I haven't been training as hard as I did for the race in February. Hopefully it won't be too difficult.

My next weight goal is to lose at least 5.9 pounds to be under 200 for the first time in over 18 years. Hopefully this will happen before summer begins--then I can work over the summer to 189 and lower! :)

I hope everyone has a great Easter and for those on spring break, enjoy your time off. See you next week (if I find the time to post) with my newest results--maybe after the race!

Bye now!

Long Time No See

Hi Everyone!

Here I am again. It's been a while since I've posted to the blog about my journey--things just get crazy from time to time. But I have a little extra of that right now, so I thought I would update you. :)

Starting weight: 242
Weight last post: 217.9
Weigh-in today: 206.4 (As of April 1, 2011)
3 week change: -11.5
Total loss on WW: -35.6
Total loss since Feb 2010: -47.6

It's good to get back on track. I just hope that I can keep it moving in the right direction over the next few weeks. If I keep it up, I should be able to get below 200 by May! If I can accomplish that it will be the BEST day of my life next two my wedding and the birth of my children!!

I'm still walking/jogging although not as much as I was before February. I think the weather has something to do with that--and busy schedules. But, I will be walking in a 5K this weekend (St. Charles Catholic Run for the Son) and I have a half marathon at the end of the month! Can't wait! :)
